Hello! Welcome to my first piece of sharing, as I'm a degree student who are studying sports and recreation management, I hope that I can share my knowledge that are related to sports to you and motivate all of you to try a sport---swimming. You may find it really interesting beyond the professional technical skills and start loving it as me.
To be honest, I'm not a girl who are very good at swimming since I've just learn it in this year so I won't talk about the professional skills but to tell why I won't afraid this sport anymore and how do I get start on it. It may not be professional as what the coach can teach you but I believe that it will be easier to learn and understand the concept by a people who was started from avoidance to successful learned it.
Why people will afraid of swimming? I believe that the most common reason is the uncomfortable feeling in the water. The pressure in the water increases a lot more when we're on the ground therefore chest pain problem shown up as the force in the water limit the expansion of your lung, that't why you feel hard to breathe! What's more will make us feel bad when swimming? You may have a short term tinnitus when the water get into your ears or you may choke the water with a wrong breathing method...
We must know one thing that the way to breathe in the water is different from the way you breathe when walking or exercising so how can we get the tips when breathing in the water? 1) Remember to breathe in by mouth, take a deep one as quick!! 2) Breathe out by nose slowly in the water!!
You may wanna ask why and I can tell that is because you won't have much time to breathe between the swimming movement so use the mouth can get more oxygen into your lung, then when you slowly breathe out you won't use all the oxygen that you've breathed in so you won't be lack of oxygen and you can reduce the amount of oxygen intake next time!
Before you totally familiar with the breathing pattern in this way, don't try to swim out of the pool sides as practice, it may be quite dangerous! Do it by catching the sides of the pool in a chest-depth water area and this is easier to learn the basic skill first=)
What is the reason make you fear to enjoy swimming? Please tell me in the comment box if you want, thanks for reading=)
